Nahm

god

Overview

Nahm is the natural cosmic god of symmetry and perfection from Haverloch, the divine authority behind the Axial Concord, and the god wielded by Virel. Haverloch's mirrored capital, Axanaxa, its Symmetry Trials, and its specialty in vector magic put his ideals of alignment, precision, logic, and perfected order into architecture, trials, and spellcraft.

Nahm is also a strategist among the gods. He guides Haverloch through Virel, Simon, Remus, Celia, and followers in Haverloch, shares intelligence with Tianlei and Nerissa, debates plans with Ozaith's divine coalition, and uses his knowledge of ancient Valrindor to plan Haverloch's responses to Eremion's return, Thalassai, Varnhallow, Zain, Khauren, Gabriel, Raphael, and the darkness.

Manifestation

Nahm descends in a faceless geometric body of gray or stone-like divine essence, angular planes, interlocking lines, mirrored shapes, and precise symmetry. His descended body can be a smooth humanoid statue, a luminous gray divine body, or a shifting body of triangles, spheres, rectangles, and geometric patterns.

When he withdraws from the mortal world, Nahm can dissolve into divine essence and return to Virel's geometric shard. In the God Realm, he retains the same geometric form, with his lines and shapes realigning as he speaks or reacts.

Nature

Nahm is logical, calculating, perfectionist, and protective of Haverloch. He favors plans that preserve order, minimize waste, and keep Haverloch from falling under another power. He often weighs choices in logical or symmetrical terms, and his followers mirror that fixation in Haverloch's etiquette, architecture, tests, magic, and government.

He can be secretive when Malverand, the Order, or older divine history is involved. He still shows regret, loyalty, and attachment: he apologizes to Thalena after Lunorax disappears near Chronasis while fighting Nahm, values Virel's survival, protects Haverloch's people, and cooperates across old rivalries when Raphael, Gabriel, Zain, Khauren, and enemies near the source endanger Haverloch or its allies.

Powers and Limits

Nahm's power combines divine magic, cosmic force, and vector control. He can descend when conditions allow, speak through Virel's shard, observe followers, relay information across great distances, and coordinate followers and allied gods from the God Realm. The geometric core is Nahm's shard and the vessel through which Virel carries him.

His signature magic is vector control. Nahm and Virel redirect attacks, alter trajectories, bend movement, reinforce shields, guide cosmic meteors, and manipulate paths with extreme precision. At divine scale, Nahm can bend space and movement around opponents, trace vectors through hostile magic, and turn large attacks away from their intended targets.

Nahm is dangerous in direct battle. Temporal magic counters him because a target such as Lunorax can blink, freeze motion, and refuse to remain in place long enough for vectors to land. Wide-area attacks, exhaustion, disrupted god-realm access, lack of usable followers, and stronger ancient gods can also limit what he can accomplish.

History

Nahm is already active during the Malverand era as a natural cosmic god gathering followers in Haverloch. Haverloch stays outside the Fall of Malverand and opposes the idea of any empire or guardian order holding too much power. Under Nahm's leadership and blessing, Haverloch trades food and technology, shares intelligence, and uses diplomacy against Malverand.

Jarin Jassaro reshapes Haverloch's capital and government while living in Axanaxa. He co-creates the Axial Concord, introduces engines and mirrorwork, and gives Nahm the geometric object that once belonged to the Malverand vault. Nahm predates the core; Virel later wields Nahm through that Malverand-made artifact. After Nahm receives it, Haverloch's devotion to symmetry grows stronger than Jarin intended. Jarin and Nahm also codify Haverloch's oath against teaching or revealing the truth about the Malverand Empire before the proper time.

In the period before the Thalassai Invasion, Virel becomes Nahm's wielder through the Symmetry Trials. Nahm uses Virel to scout Thalassai, bring Haverloch into Ozaith's coalition, and plan the invasion of Thalassai after the gods come to fear Thalassai's rise. Near Chronasis, Nahm descends and fights Lunorax, whose temporal overload prevents Nahm's vectors and meteors from landing decisive strikes.

After Ozaith's death, Nahm meets Hrzai and Eira in the God Realm and begins reassessing what he knows about Thalena, the cycles, Malverand, and the Order. His knowledge has gaps around Thalion and Isaac's identities and the Order's actions during Malverand's fall. After Varnhallow, Nahm knows Simon is an Order member, gathers returned-god updates, credits Hrzai for the cycle-breaking outcome, and understands that Haverloch's independence depends on Eira, Thalion, and Thalena's ancient actions. He later briefs Virel on the years he missed after the Varnhallow displacement, warns Haverloch about renewed threats, and relays updates about Raphael, Gabriel, Khauren, Zain, Azarion, Eliona, Nerissa, and Nero as they threaten Haverloch's allies around Zarephon, Rimvold, Cyndarel, Kaldaryn, and Xalmyrra.

Relationships

  • Virel is Nahm's wielder and closest mortal agent.
  • Haverloch is Nahm's nation, governed through the Axial Concord under his divine authority.
  • Jarin Jassaro gives Nahm the geometric core, and he and Nahm bind Haverloch to the Malverand secrecy oath.
  • Simon, Remus, Celia, and Haverloch mages serve Nahm's strategic goals through the Axial Concord.
  • Ozaith, Hrzai, Tianlei, Xoh'Tenol, Pyrathalor, Nerissa, and Renneth coordinate God Realm diplomacy, Thalassai invasion planning, and threat reports with Nahm.
  • Gabriel, Raphael, Khauren, Zain, Azarion, and Eliona threaten Nahm, Haverloch, or his allies.
