Valrindor Atlas Timeline

Axanaxa is the capital and a port city of Haverloch, in southeastern Valrindor. The Axial Concord governs from the Hall of Reflections.

Layout

Mirrored towers, gray streets, plazas and arched walkways follow rigid geometric patterns. Black, gray and white dominate the buildings. Trees and hedges are pruned into geometric shapes, and parks continue the ordered layout. Essence towers stand at uneven intervals across the skyline. Farmland surrounds the city.

Transport

The port has docks, workers and fishermen. Vector carts carry passengers along fixed rails through the streets. Diamond shaped vector voyagers fly in geometric zigzags with air and fire propulsion enhanced by vector magic.

Civic buildings

The Hall of Reflections has a reflective facade. Broad steps lead to its glass doors and council chamber. A park beside the hall contains a pond, sculpted hedges and a fountain, and the city has a library of Haverloch history and accounts of Valrindor.

Layout

Mirrored towers, gray streets, broad plazas and arched walkways follow rigid geometric patterns. Black, gray and white dominate the buildings. Trees and hedges are pruned into geometric shapes, and planned parks continue the ordered layout. Essence towers stand at uneven intervals across the otherwise aligned skyline.

Farmland surrounds the capital. Beyond the fields on the northern outskirts stands an arena used for combat practice. The port has active docks and fishermen; workers wear clothes that distinguish their roles and coordinate their movements.

Transport

Vector carts carry passengers along fixed rails through the streets, turning around bends and serving the Hall of Reflections. Metallic trim and silken seats furnish their interiors.

Diamond shaped vector voyagers fly in geometric zigzags, using air and fire propulsion enhanced by vector magic. Access is a privilege of higher classes, nobles and officials. Flying within the city is usually forbidden, with exceptions for higher ranked mages. Mages escort approaching windweavers to designated landing areas.

Civic buildings and customs

The hall's broad steps, walls and railings reflect those approaching it; glass doors lead to the council chamber, with a large central table and crystalline chairs. The hall also has official and guest chambers.

A park beside the hall contains a pond, sculpted hedges and a geometric fountain. Air and water mages clean after pedestrians and scrub officials' boots. A city library holds histories of Haverloch and accounts of Valrindor.

Symmetry also shapes public conduct. People walk in coordinated patterns, officials arrange the folds of their robes and cross their hands in greeting.

History

Jarin's reconstruction

The capital was originally called Haverloch City. Winding dirt streets ran among uneven wooden and stone buildings, with mixed colors and overgrown trees. Jareth, using the name Jarin Jassaro, joined its existing council and reorganized it as the Axial Concord.

Reconstruction was slow because there were too few skilled mages and artisans to make the glass and mirrors he wanted. After a decade, only small parts of the city had been transformed. Jarin developed small engines to help construction, and Nahm blessed his dedication to Haverloch. By 2085 AX the capital was called Axanaxa and Jarin led the Axial Concord.

Jarin created symmetry trials for admission to the council, including vector designs and technological calculations. Jarin left Haverloch to seek treatment from Jorhan for his atraxi illness.

Modern port

Axanaxa's port gathered mages and ships for Haverloch's invasion of Thalassai.

An officer's draining of essence corrupted a central square with darkness. Vector carts diverted around it while the cleanup remained unfinished.

The symmetry trials are open to everyone, but admission to the Axial Concord requires exceptionally high alignment. The tests include vector designs and technological calculations concerning vector carts and voyagers. Candidates who pass are admitted under the rule left by Jarin.

Jarin created symmetry trials for admission to the council. Jarin left Haverloch to seek treatment from Jorhan for his atraxi illness.

Construction continued while glass districts stood beside unfinished wooden and stone buildings. By 2955 AX, Axanaxa had grown larger and more symmetrical than Jarin's original vision.

The Hall of Reflections hosted talks about confronting Zain. The Axial Concord also discussed expanding Haverloch's trade through Thalassai trains and connecting skyship platforms. The international routes remained under development.

Thalena's account

In Thalena's Shores of Eternity, an asteroid strikes Haverloch and destroys Axanaxa. The impact causes a tsunami that reaches Stormhaven and other coastal cities.
