Haverloch

Overview

Haverloch is a southeastern nation in Eastern Valrindor, devoted to Nahm, the god of symmetry and perfection. The Axial Concord governs it from Axanaxa. Symmetry and vector magic dominate its public design, mage training, and technology.

After the ocean routes to Thalassai reopen, Haverloch trades food and seed with Morozkaya, shares Axial Concord intelligence, sends mages against Raphael's side, and prepares military action against Zain's forces.

Geography

Haverloch lies across the ocean from Thalassai and near Ulzathir in eastern Valrindor. Places in Haverloch include Axanaxa, the capital; Alula, its easternmost port city on an island; Valalav, a Navan Sea port near Arcanis Village and the Varnhallow border; Itati, a symmetrical city near the Ulzathir route; and Xylyx, a place on travel and trade routes along the Navan Sea.

The country includes ports, coastal routes, farmlands, forests, villages, roads, scattered mountains, and desert-edge terrain. The Haverloch side of the Ulzathir border is lush with farms and forests. The Ulzathir side quickly turns dry and barren. Roads, watchtowers, docks, and air routes give Haverloch strong control over movement between its cities, the Ulzathir border, and Navan Sea routes.

Haverloch's farmland produces rice, corn, barley, apples, grapes, potatoes, and other crops used in food exports and seed exchanges with nearby nations.

Culture and Magic

Haverloch culture prizes symmetry, order, precision, beauty, and controlled presentation. Officials and mages often wear black, white, gray, or geometric robes, keep their clothing and hair carefully aligned, and use formal gestures that emphasize the same ideals. Cities, gardens, boats, roads, buildings, and public movement often mirror that national obsession with balance.

Vector magic is Haverloch's signature discipline. It manipulates force, angles, trajectories, and movement with extreme precision, and Haverloch mages use it for flight, redirection, defense, and transportation. Haverloch also uses vector carts in Axanaxa and vector voyagers, Haverloch airships with symmetrical design and sharp zigzag movement.

The country's leading mages receive unusually disciplined training and work as diplomats, scouts, border defenders, commanders, and agents of the Axial Concord.

Government and Institutions

Nahm is Haverloch's divine ruler and guiding authority. The Axial Concord governs the country from the Hall of Reflections in Axanaxa under his authority. Simon leads the Concord; Virel carries Nahm into field missions, Remus is Simon's second-in-command, Celia handles trade and imports, and Felix commands Haverloch forces.

During his years in Haverloch, Jarin Jassaro founded the Axial Concord and rebuilt the old capital, then named Haverloch City, into Axanaxa. He introduced engines and symmetrical design, gave Nahm the geometric object that fit Nahm's vision of perfection, and left Haverloch with the mirrored halls, tests, and vector technology it later preserves.

Axial Concord

The Axial Concord is Haverloch's ruling council. Its chamber sits inside the Hall of Reflections, a mirrored government building in central Axanaxa. The Concord answers Nahm, receives foreign envoys, circulates intelligence about Zain, Varnhallow, Raphael, Gabriel, and Khauren, and sends mages or ships when those threats endanger the nation or its allies.

The Concord's members and officials include Simon, Remus, Celia, Felix, Virel, Jarin Jassaro, Helena Hyperion, and Varin. Simon leads the Concord and belongs to the Order of Thalion Zenith. He remains loyal to Haverloch's ways and continues to act through the Concord.

Symmetry Trials

The Symmetry Trials are Haverloch's competitive process for powerful young mages, especially those considered worthy to wield Nahm. The trials test raw strength, alignment, symmetry, technical understanding, and the kind of precision Haverloch expects from its highest servants.

Jarin created the trials, and his perfect score became the standard to match. Helena Hyperion passed his symmetrical tests at seventeen and entered the Axial Concord. Later, Isaac trained candidates such as Virel, Felix, and Celia for the trials, and Virel became Nahm's chosen wielder.

History

Haverloch and Ulzathir emerged as independent nations during the expansion of the old Malverand Empire. Haverloch later develops into a trade-and-magic nation governed by the Axial Concord and Nahm's symmetry ideal.

Jarin Jassaro rebuilt the capital, founded the Axial Concord, introduced engines and symmetrical design, and offered Nahm the geometric object that fit his vision of structured perfection. Axanaxa kept the mirrored government halls, black-and-white towers, and symmetry-driven public design. The rest of the country adopted the same ideals more gradually.

During the Fall of Malverand, Haverloch cooperated with Skarnheim and the Order's allies. Haverloch avoided becoming a battlefield and supplied trade, food, and technology. Haverloch law forbids speaking of Malverand before the proper time.

After the Order returns and Zain, Raphael, Gabriel, Khauren, and Varnhallow threaten nearby nations, Haverloch's leaders host envoys, trade with Ulzathir and Morozkaya, share Axial Concord intelligence, and deploy mages or ships against Zain, Raphael, Gabriel, Khauren, and Ulzathir.
