Pyrathalor

Pyrathalor is a god of fire and ice with followers in Morozkaya. He is allied with Ozaith, Nahm and Hrzai against Thalassai.

Appearance and Magic

His divine form combines fire and ice. He carries a glaive and grants power to a wielder.

History

Pyrathalor descended against Thalena and Cassian. He struck Cassian with his glaive but was defeated, and Thalena captured his essence. The Thalassai used it to open a gate. Ozaith promised to recover it.

Pyrathalor continued meeting with the other gods in the God Realm. They planned to kill Thalena and Cassian and claim Xolterra before turning against the darkness. Pyrathalor remained concerned about his lands and wielder in Morozkaya, which he could no longer see clearly after his defeat.

During the fall of the Malverand Empire, Pyrathalor helped Brighthaven stabilize its ancient technology and prosper. After Alistair Voss took control, Alistair told him to leave. Pyrathalor returned to Morozkaya rather than start a war that would cost him followers. Alistair later presented him as Brighthaven's destroyer and himself as its protector.

Vianna

Pyrathalor rescued Vianna from the crew abducting her for Alistair. He killed the crew and disabled Julian, whom Vianna then killed. He made a pact with her and took her to Kyranthos, where Kazimir and Kyrana trained her. Together with the council, he helped forge a smaller glaive for her.

When Isaac sought help overthrowing Alistair, Pyrathalor agreed in exchange for trade and Brighthaven's future assistance against Thalassai. He joined the attack on Radiance Prime, and Vianna killed Alistair.

Capture and death

Pyrathalor joined Ozaith and Nahm against Thalassai, regarding Thalena and Cassian as threats to the gods. Virel entered Thalassai to spy for the alliance. Pyrathalor descended when Thalena appeared vulnerable, but she trapped him in a black hole and captured his essence. As his final act in the battle, he threw his glaive into Cassian, leaving a wound that Thalena held in temporal stasis.

Thalena used his essence to open a gate. His diminished shard remained with Vianna, and the alliance invaded Thalassai to recover him. Cyrena, with Deylin's help, made an essence core from his captured essence. Thalena gave it to Aelius, who later passed it to Cassian at her instruction. Cassian used its power to destroy Ozaith.
