Overview
Kren is a Keldaran air mage, commander, and close companion of Vianna / Viviana. During his time-displaced years, he lives as Gren. He travels from Keldara into Thundermarch with Khoradyn and Rhalyn, joins the army and settlement that Garrik later names Kaldaryn, and later serves in the Order of Thalion Zenith.
Kren is reserved, analytical, and protective. He stays close to Rhalyn during the early Keldaran journey, protects Vianna after the fall of Hengzhou, questions the politics around Myrravel and the source, and remains at Vianna's side through the Plains of Eternity, stasis, the fight near Ishtanur, the Kaldaryn hurricane-shard attack, and Garrik's search for Raphael's heart near Cyndarel.
Appearance and Demeanor
Kren has blond hair and green eyes. His hair is long during his earlier Valrindor years, then cut short after his time in stasis. He is often quieter than companions such as Zhang, but he catches inconsistencies quickly and speaks when a plan, ally, or enemy deserves scrutiny.
Kren stays beside Vianna without forcing answers from her, accepts command when needed, and uses guard, scout, and air-mage command duties to keep allies alive.
Magic and Command
Kren is a skilled air mage whose magic emphasizes precision, speed, and control. He flies easily, cushions falls, forms air shields and bubbles, clears ash or debris with shockwaves, and attacks with compressed-air blades, lashes, and blasts.
He also uses air magic for subtle reconnaissance. In Myriandel, he funnels sound toward himself to listen at a distance while he and Vianna investigate Aurelia, Ranan, Nuvyra, Sharuzh, and Nadun's position inside Myrravel and Ulzathir's effort to take the source.
Kren trains Jin in Keldaran air technique, trains Vianna in movement and plasma-blade combat, leads air mages in elite Kaldaryn detachments, fights under Thalion near Rimvold, and later commands air support against shapers, Ulzathir defenders, and Myrravel forces.
History
Kren enters Thundermarch with Khoradyn, Rhalyn, and Khoradyn's Keldaran party. At Cloudrift Temple, he protects his sister Rhalyn, duels Jin, and teaches Jin precision air magic. When Khoradyn leaves to restore peace beyond the mountains, Kren goes with him.
In Valrindor, Kren joins Khoradyn and Garrik as they move against the shapers of Shroudvale. He leads an elite group toward Hengzhou, fights in the city's defense, and escorts survivors into the army Garrik later names Kaldaryn. Vianna is among those survivors; Garrik assigns Kren to guard her after her suicide attempt, and Kren remains loyal to Vianna afterward.
Kren later vanishes in a timerift with Zhang, Ivan, and Svanhild. After the timerift, he lives as Gren, joins the Order, and serves under Thalion's command. He and Vianna travel with Aurelia and Isandriel through Brighthaven, Haverloch, Ulzathir, Myrravel, and the Plains of Eternity.
During Myrravel and Ulzathir's effort to seize the source, Gren and Viviana investigate Aurelia's true purpose in claiming the source and warn Nadun. Gren fights Ranan, holds back Sharuzh and Nuvyra's forces, survives Aurelia's betrayal, and remains with Viviana after she kills Aurelia. He also joins Viviana in recovering Tal'Massar and seeking Isandriel after the ruined battlefield before the tsunami forces the survivors out.
After the Plains of Eternity, Kren and Vianna stay in Skarnheim for a time during rebuilding and eventually enter stasis with displaced members of the Order. He awakens in the current era with the group, returns to active service after recovering, joins Vianna and their allies during the Attack on Ishtanur, fights in Kaldaryn during the hurricane-shard attack, and is later asked by Garrik to scout Cyndarel and search for Raphael's heart.

- Rhalyn: Rhalyn is Kren's sister.
- Vianna: Vianna is Kren's lover and closest companion across Kaldaryn, Morozkaya, Myrravel, Skarnheim, stasis, Ishtanur, Kaldaryn, and Cyndarel.
- Khoradyn, Garrik, and Zhang: Kren follows Khoradyn from Keldara into Valrindor, serves Garrik's peacekeeping cause, and serves beside Zhang in Kaldaryn and through the timerift displacement.
- Jin: Kren teaches Jin Keldaran air magic, asks him to look after Rhalyn, and later reunites with him during events in Thundermarch, Kaldaryn, and Cyndarel.
- The Order: As Gren, Kren serves beside Thalion, Isandriel, Aurelia, Zayren, Ivan, Svanhild, Maia, and Rhyzmar in the Order.
