Ranan is a divine mage who ruled Myrravel alongside Queen Nuvyra. Igor captured him during the war for the source, and he was imprisoned in Rimvold.
Appearance and Magic
Ranan is tall, with golden blond hair and teal eyes. He has keen divine senses, casts powerful golden blasts and shields, and enchants his body for close combat.
History
Ranan was Aurelia's third cousin and the closest royal bloodline to the throne. Myrran planned to make him king while Aurelia studied with the Oracles. During a visit home, she brought water stolen from the source, which Myrran and Myralla gave to Ranan.
As king, Ranan joined Nuvyra and Sharuzh in planning an attack on Abraxas and the Oracles. They sought to seize the source and free Myrravel from the Plains of Eternity. Nadun came to aid them but intended to prevent them claiming the source, a plan he confided to Sharuzh. Ranan, Nuvyra and Sharuzh ambushed him beside the lake at Myriandel. Sharuzh threw him toward the water while Ranan and Nuvyra attacked. A creature swallowed Nadun. Nuvyra damaged the city's outskirts, and Nadun's final overload caused further destruction. Ranan then supported Sharuzh's false announcement that Abraxas had attacked Myriandel and killed Nadun, urging their forces to march immediately.
Ranan commanded Myrravel's troops during their later advance toward the source. Viviana and Gren blocked them at a valley while Igor collapsed the pass and the Ereshval army attacked. Ranan fought Gren, but Igor captured him in a prison of rock. Ranan confirmed that Aurelia had participated in the scheme.
Benedict's skyships rescued the surviving prisoners before the tsunami reached them. Ranan and Sharuzh were brought to Rimvold and placed in cells.
