Thamrielle is one of the Guardians of Malverand and the wielder of Kharvos, the god of lava. She stood by Barachiel and is Sariel's mother. After being captured at Jazarel, she has begun helping Rimvold.
Appearance and magic
Thamrielle has blond hair and wears robes with crimson accents. She is an extraordinary fire and earth mage who also uses plasma magic. She combines earth and fire to control lava, raise volcanoes and reshape landscapes. She also possesses water magic. Her Malverand heart can repeatedly repair severe injuries, but sustained punishment can overwhelm it.
History
Rahmavir and Blackcrag
Thamrielle held the Malverand frontline in Rahmavir. Abraxas killed Phariel, her trusted second in command, and forced her to flee. The guardians abandoned Rahmavir, and Eremion offered her lands in Blackcrag.
Her lands prospered, but Eremion gradually took control of her army. When she confronted him in Morindel, he tried to restrain her. She escaped through the earth and reached Isandriel, who healed her injuries.
Isandriel and Morozkaya
Thamrielle stayed with Isandriel in Brighthaven for centuries. They fought Jorhan's forces in Durakarn, but their magic fed the corruption they were resisting. As both lost memories and purpose, they often held one another in silence. After Remiella's death, they jointly awakened the burning frost crystal at Morozkaya, creating Thalor without a wielder. Thamrielle later disappeared from Isandriel's life and traveled across Valrindor.
Jazarel and Rimvold
During the battle of Jazarel, Thamrielle raised a volcano and rescued Jeremiah by taking him underground. Her lava killed Mia while Mia protected Helena. Thalion attacked Thamrielle, repeatedly overcoming the healing of her heart. Isandriel stopped him from killing her, and she was taken captive.
In Rimvold, she apologized for Mia's death but concealed part of her history in Rahmavir. Thalion broke her fingers to force answers; her heart restored them. By 2103 AX, she had begun helping the city.

Thamrielle was one of the Guardians of Malverand and the wielder of Kharvos, the god of lava. She was Barachiel's companion and the mother of Sariel. Abraxas killed her after she took the source from the Plains of Eternity.
Appearance
Thamrielle had long, wavy blond hair and red eyes. Her hair became thinner and uneven as her memories deteriorated. She wore robes with crimson accents. While holding the source, her hair burned orange and her eyes turned black; their normal colors returned as her strength failed.
Magic
Thamrielle was an extraordinary fire and earth mage who also used plasma magic. She combined earth and fire to control lava, raise volcanoes and reshape landscapes. Earth barriers protected her companions, while rising blocks of rock carried her rapidly across the ground. She also used water magic to help keep a ship on course.
Kharvos gave her immense power, and her Malverand heart repeatedly repaired severe injuries. She could endure extreme heat but remained vulnerable to impacts. Even her heart could fail under sustained punishment.
History
Barachiel and Rahmavir
Thamrielle joined Barachiel's council before receiving a god shard and served as an envoy to Rahmavir, arranging alliances and trade. She was the first guardian to connect with Hrzai, whose initial manifestation resembled her. She later became Kharvos's wielder.
When Barachiel's spiral test caused a catastrophic wave at Morozkaya, Thamrielle and Remiella raised a giant volcano to keep the four surviving guardians above it. Thamrielle nearly exhausted her magic protecting them. After the destruction, she withdrew into isolation.
Thamrielle spent long periods serving in Rahmavir. She left Phariel, her trusted second in command, in charge when she returned to Barachiel. In 1011 BX, Barachiel introduced their son Sariel to the council. She later returned to Rahmavir, leaving Sariel in Isandriel's care because she could not take him into the war.
A messenger warned her that a destroyer would come for Barachiel. Thamrielle killed him with lava, treating his words as a threat. She investigated the Chosen near Garadon and concluded that Rahmavir posed a danger, but Barachiel disappeared before she could warn him. She later blamed herself for his disappearance, although she had not been at the gate where it happened.
Thamrielle and Phariel attacked Abraxas with the Chosen. Abraxas answered by disintegrating Phariel, and Thamrielle fled. The guardians abandoned Rahmavir, and she settled in Blackcrag.
Blackcrag and Isandriel
Her lands prospered, but Eremion gradually took control of her army. When she confronted him in Morindel, he tried to restrain her. She escaped through the earth and reached Isandriel, who healed her injuries.

She later admitted her guilt over the messenger and Barachiel to Thalion. Reunited with Sariel, she offered to do anything for him and embraced him. He said he was content with his life and pushed her away after a brief pat on the back.
The source and her death
Thamrielle accompanied Isandriel's expedition to the Plains of Eternity. She taught Igor to draw lava through earth magic and helped the others adjust their spells to the plains' dense essence. Although Kharvos urged her toward a plan to obtain the source, she turned back to help Viviana and Gren escape giant fish before rejoining the expedition.
As her memories of Barachiel and Sariel faded, Thamrielle hoped the source would let her recover Barachiel and restore Malverand. She entered Zarephon and retrieved it from the lake. The source released violent, unstable essence through her, and she refused to surrender it to Isandriel. The dense essence of the plains had intensified her obsession.
Thamrielle attacked Isandriel when he tried to stop her. She severed her own trapped arm to prevent him from unmaking Kharvos. Isandriel's sustained assault eventually overwhelmed her heart, leaving her broken and pleading to live. Before he could kill her, Abraxas intervened, took the source and disintegrated her.
Relationships
- Barachiel: Thamrielle loved him and struggled to accept his disappearance. Her desire to recover him became inseparable from her fear of forgetting their life together.
- Sariel: She regretted how little she had been his mother. She wanted to repair their relationship, but her offer of devotion could not restore the closeness she sought.
- Isandriel: They shared centuries of companionship and loneliness. She reassured him when he blamed himself for Jorhan, and he wanted her to live despite fearing her destructive power. Their final conflict came when he tried to stop her from keeping the source.
- Kharvos: Thamrielle spoke regularly with her god and protected him even at the cost of her arm. He encouraged her hope of recovering Barachiel through the source.
- Phariel: She trusted him to command in her absence. His death forced her retreat from Rahmavir.
