Ozaith

god

Overview

Ozaith, also called Hyperion and Ozaith-Tzerakh, is a natural god, an aether and cosmic power, and Ulzathir's divine ruler. He uses the title King of gods, and his council, shrines, children, followers, and shard wielders sustain his authority there.

Ozaith survives in temporal stasis with Thalion, Eira, Abraxas, and the other displaced survivors, then returns through Xarion's galaxy shard.

Appearance and Symbols

When Ozaith descends, he takes a vast manlike celestial form with starlight, void, constellations, cosmic trails, and crushing gravitational pressure. Ulzathir's public worship uses star shrines, cosmic glyphs, staff imagery, and titles that place him above other gods.

Galaxy Shard

Ozaith's shard is a shining or swirling galaxy in the wielder's palm. Nadun carries a shining mark, while Xarion carries a black-and-purple galaxy that remains purple-violet after temporal stasis.

Power

Ozaith draws power through followers, belief, divine essence, and shard pacts. He can descend into the mortal plane, speak through wielders, act through a shard mark, and sense through followers or chosen agents. The dense essence of the Plains of Eternity interferes with his sight and descent.

Ozaith's magic uses aether and cosmic force: gravity collapse, aether flight, cosmic beams, cosmic barriers, wound sealing, and asteroid-scale attacks. As Ozaith-Tzerakh, he commands singularity-scale aether magic, including gravity collapse strong enough to tear at the boundary between worlds.

Ozaith also understands gates and world-crossing. He studies Malverand-style gate construction through his wielders, builds the gate that sends Deylin and Thalena to Earth, and crossed from his original world by breaking through the veil with overwhelming gravity.

History

Before Ulzathir, Ozaith lived in another Valrindor-like world under the name Hyperion, a god of the sun and cosmos. In that world, humanity once worshiped gods openly. Human civilization later turned toward machines, immortality research, essence repellers, containment systems, and experiments Ozaith considered abominations. Hyperion destroyed much of humanity's early machine-and-immortality research after Helena Hyperion aided humanity and her descended form began failing.

Ozaith eventually left that world, spending his power to break through the veil. Later research traces the known passage between the two Valrindors to the breach at Zarephon. He later admits that he spread the name Valrindor and denies responsibility for the repeated names, geography echoes, and Malverand patterns across the two Valrindors.

In Valrindor, Ozaith becomes Ulzathir's divine ruler. His children are raised within the council system, and he chooses last names for them. Aurelia secures his aid against Abraxas by offering a child born from Ozaith's power and the unstable power that overwhelms her; that child becomes Helena Hyperion, later known as Thalena Xenith. Ozaith views Helena as future-wielder material. He judges her too young and too uncontrolled to serve as his wielder in the war over the source, and Alistair hides the abuse and sabotage he inflicts on her.

After Nadun dies during Ulzathir's march against Abraxas and the Oracles of Eternity, Tal'Massar seeks Ozaith's aid and Ozaith forms a pact with Thalion. Together they fight Abraxas, confront origin magic, and are thrown outside space and time. Ozaith stays with Thalion through exile, lends him aether and cosmic power, and guides the attempt to return home through gate construction.

Character

Ozaith is proud, commanding, strategic, and deeply conscious of divine rank. Worship, followers, and shard pacts feed his power; through wielders and shard pacts, he descends, fights, and addresses mortals and other gods with open authority.

Ozaith is also pragmatic enough to honor bargains and reassess failures. He reinforces Thalion's barriers and wound-sealing against Abraxas, stays with him outside space and time, apologizes for some past choices, accepts exile from Ulzathir, and acknowledges that his own future has limits.

Relationships

  • Children: Ozaith's children include Helena Hyperion, Anshar, Zain, Thea, and Zhulkar. Aurelia is Helena's mother.
  • Wielders and pacts: Nadun, Maia, and Thalion / Xarion are Ozaith's wielders. Xarion carries the galaxy shard after Ozaith returns from stasis.
  • Allies: Ozaith rules Ulzathir, forms pacts with Tal'Massar and Thalion, and travels with Eira after the Thalion-Abraxas War.
  • Enemies and rivals: Ozaith opposes Abraxas during Ulzathir's march against Abraxas and the Oracles of Eternity, and later faces Khauren, Raphael, Gabriel, and schemes that exploit divine names.
