Cyrena is the head researcher of the Nexus Research Center beneath Stella Aeterna in Chronasis, Thalassai.
Appearance
Cyrena has bright pink hair and an enchanted mechanical arm with a bronze cuff. Her experiments leave ash in her hair.
Personality
She teases Cassian about his interest in Thalena and celebrates experimental breakthroughs loudly. She also insists he rest and train between exhausting gate tests.
History
Cyrena worked on Thalena's resonance communication devices and spent two decades designing a divine barrier to contain a descended god.
She tested Kaelion and Cassian with devices fitted into the Chronasis gate. Kaelion produced no response, while Cassian lit the spiral and sun symbols. She tuned the equipment to him, and he later activated five symbols. She used instruments to measure the gate and asked Cassian to identify signatures he sensed inside it.
When Pyrathalor attacked Cassian, Cyrena launched a golden orb that unfolded into a divine shield around the god, Thalena, and her singularity. After Pyrathalor's essence was captured, she connected cables to the collapsed shield. Cassian drew on it and Thalena's essence to open the gate. She then monitored the open passage.
Relationships
- Thalena: She trusts Cyrena's research and gives her freedom to pursue ideas. Cyrena defended her leadership when Cassian questioned her manipulation, pointing to what she had built in Thalassai.
- Cassian: Cyrena works closely with him on gate tests, checks his fatigue, and teases him about Thalena.
- Deylin: He helped with her gate research, bringing knowledge from Earth.
Cyrena is the head researcher of the Nexus Research Center beneath Stella Aeterna in Chronasis, Thalassai.

Gate connections
With Deylin's help, Cyrena made an essence core from Pyrathalor's captured essence, which Thalena gave to Aelius. She also built shields in preparation for the gods' attack on Thalassai.
After Zayren drew a rope between Irrathis and Chronasis, she sent a letter through the void using an aether artifact and received an answer from Thalvian. They worked from both ends of the connection. Cyrena planned a lift along the rope to make the passage safer.

Abraxas and Malverand hearts
Cyrena studied Abraxas with Jareth. After the explosion at Pyrenis, she supplied an empty hollow core and held it while Jin guided Abraxas's remaining black particles inside. They then sealed the core.
She and Jareth worked with Eliona on restoring Isandriel's Malverand heart, which remained dormant. When Thalena brought the recovered hearts of Brynor and Maric to Chronasis, Jareth began testing Brynor's in the apparatus prepared for Isandriel. Brynor's heart later began responding.
Thalena's account
In Thalena's Shores of Eternity, Cyrena led researchers moving Rafe and Eamon into a chamber nearly drained of essence after they escaped the other Valrindor. Thalena then instructed her to send mages capable of fast travel or flight through the void to assist the evacuation.
