Alistair Voss was the high technomancer and leader of the Brighthaven Triarch. He ruled from the Spire of Triumvirate until Vianna killed him during the Brighthaven Civil War.
History
Alistair intended to use Vianna's resemblance to Pyrathalor as proof that the god would return, allowing him to consolidate control over Brighthaven. Isaac trained her and made her well known to deter Alistair from acting against her. Olivia and Damian tried to restrain him, but the dispute became a civil war between him and Isaac.
Many people were secretly killed under Alistair's rule. Olivia and Damian died, and Vianna's family fled Brighthaven with Isaac's help. Alistair later sent Julian to bring her back. Julian claimed that Olivia was alive and that Alistair had changed, then threatened Vianna when she refused to return. She killed him.
Isaac secured military help from Morozkaya. He returned to Radiance Prime with Vianna, Pyrathalor, Kazimir, and Morozkayan mages. Isaac's allies disabled the southern defenses, and the attackers reached the spire, where Alistair was ruling alone.
Alistair raised cosmic barriers against Vianna, but her glaive cut through them and killed him. Time froze around her and everything turned black before the chamber returned. Red lines crossed his severed head. Isaac displayed it to the surviving followers, and the attackers left Brighthaven under a new triarch.
Relationships
- Vianna: Alistair pursued Vianna because he considered her Pyrathalor's reincarnation and wanted to use her for his own rule. His orders drove her family into exile, and she returned to kill him.
- Isaac: Isaac protected Vianna from Alistair and opposed his rule. Their conflict led to the civil war and Isaac's alliance with Morozkaya.
Alistair Voss was the high technomancer and leader of the Brighthaven Triarch, serving the original Alistair within Alistair's Network. He ruled from the Spire of Triumvirate until Vianna killed him during the Brighthaven Civil War.
Voss was a code name inherited by successive agents. The original Alistair left an agent with an appearance close to his own to administer Brighthaven while he worked elsewhere. Voss's death did not kill the founder.
