Overview
Jazarel is a rebuilt city-state near Kaldaryn in Valrindor. Its ancient form was founded by Jeremiah within Malverand and later became the capital of the Jazarel Empire. The restored city is a southern trade hub.
Cityscape
Ancient Jazarel had white walls, tiled roads, gilded towers, domes, spires, glass bridges, skyship docks, cargo rails, markets, enforcer patrols, and construct-maintained streets. The Grand Jazarel Consulate rose above the city and was Jeremiah's stronghold during the siege of Jazarel.
The restored city keeps the same elegant visual style. Its white spires rise over open plains and hills, with pristine roads, domes, columns, gilded accents, gardens, streams, and a domed government building. Jazarel sits among the southern city-states and trades with Skarnheim, Kaldaryn, and Morozkaya.
Ancient History
Jeremiah founded Jazarel with his advisors during Malverand's expansion. As the empire fractured, he made Jazarel the capital of his breakaway Jazarel Empire and defended it with skyships, constructs, barriers, and mages.
Jazarel fell during the Jazarel Battle. Raphael besieged the city, Uriandel advanced on the Grand Jazarel Consulate, and Eremion was drawn toward the same battlefield. The release of Jazarel Lake sent a flood through the capital and surrounding empire, killing millions and leaving Jazarel in ruins.
Reconstruction
After the Jazarel Battle, Igor traveled across the former Jazarel Empire rebuilding damaged lands, and later Benedict oversaw Jazarel's reconstruction from Rimvold. The restored city became an independent city-state. Some patriarchs lived out their final years there during the rebuilding. Later rumors place Varin among Jazarel's regents.
Vincent is Jazarel's current regent. He receives Xarion, Aelius, Jin, Virel, Remus, and Kaelion after the Attack on Kaldaryn, manages Soria's captivity, discusses trade and alliances, and agrees to move Soria away from the city to prevent Rahmavir from freeing her. Astheron later teaches cosmic magic temporarily at Jazarel's magic school.
