She later sent him to investigate the weakening storms along Thalassai's southern borders. Initial reports suggested that strong mages might pass through the storms. Naryon returned with Pontarius after rescuing villagers in the southern islands and reported that the darkness was advancing toward Thalmyris and Pyrenis.
