Overview
Durvek Tinkral is a Keldaran temporal mage and general from Varentis, known for theatrical flair and frequent command alongside Feryon. Rhyzmar introduces him in the tournament of champions as Brynor's friend and a temporal mage extraordinaire. Later, Aldar names Durvek as the new guild master of the Adventurers' Guild, where he resides after Rhyzmar is gone.
Keldaran Command
After Khoradyn leaves Keldara behind, Durvek and Feryon keep Keldara's command structure operating from Varentis, with Durvek holding temporary command. Khoradyn later leaves Keldara to Feryon and Durvek because leading is no longer his calling. Durvek remains practical about command, questioning who will run Keldara while Feryon and Khoradyn are away; after ash-skinned beings emerge from the northern passage to Thundermarch, he recommends building a wall there.
Magic and Manner
Durvek uses temporal magic and can create a temporal shield. He carries an enchanted hourglass whose sand swirls when he senses the strange essence near the passage north of Varentis. His behavior is dramatic and comic: he introduces himself with a flourish, tosses his hourglass while speaking, and keeps performing even in tense meetings.
History
Durvek loses to Cassian in the tournament of champions after Cassian's divine shields shrug off his attacks. In Varentis, he and Rhalyn receive Malcairn, he teaches Silas much of the Keldaran language, and he continues to trust him during his years in the city. When Renneth and Maric investigate disappearances near Varentis, Durvek joins Feryon and Rhalyn at the cave leading toward Thundermarch and travels with them by ice boat.
Durvek continues into later Xalmyrran defense and council work. He joins Pontarius's expedition with Orin in eastern Valrindor. He signs paperwork backing Brynor's authority with a friendly note, alerts Brynor to unusual activity north of Keldara, informs the adventurers and Feryon, and brings a contingent of adventurers to the defense of Erenmyr's coast.
