Overview
Lake Velisyth is a lake in Xalmyrra on Valrindor where Teryndal, Erenmyr, Keldara, and Soltheris meet. Travelers use it as a landmark when steering toward Erenmyr and Lirathen, and its western borders hold ruins that Aldar sends Eira and Lirien to investigate for the council.
Geography
The route from Irrathis to Lake Velisyth runs by boat along the River Selvryn to Fyrhaven, then by frosthorn-ox wagon and forest path. The lake is broad, clear, mirror-like, and highly reflective in sunlight. Mountains to the north mark the borders of Erenmyr and Keldara. Rolling greenery to the east becomes Soltheris.
History
Aldar sends Eira and Lirien to investigate ruins near the western borders of Lake Velisyth. They reach the lake after crossing the forest from Fyrhaven and encounter a corrupted bear near the ruins before Deylin arrives with Glin and destroys it.
Deylin later captains a ship across Lake Velisyth and ferries passengers there. In another cycle, he returns to the same pattern and his crew again nicknames him Master of the Seven Seas.
Secrets and Mysteries
During her return to Valrindor from Vireen, Eira uses Lake Velisyth as a reference to steer toward Erenmyr and Lirathen in a giant skyship. After hiding a gate elsewhere, she sends the vessel toward Lake Velisyth and crashes the skyship into the lake so it can sink intact. A living village stands above the cliffs. This leaves the ark-ship hidden in the lake before her later council mission to the ruins. She later points the site out to Thalion Zenith and Abraxas during a crossing of Xalmyrra.
