Overview
The Great Hall of Rimvold is the cliffside leadership hall of Rimvold, built into the mountain as the city's main seat of command. Thalion Zenith and the Order use it as their Rimvold base in the past. Later Skarnheim leaders and allies continue to gather there during Varnhallow raids into Skarnheim, Bjarnholt's darkness outbreak, and the shaper threat.
Layout
The hall is a vast stone structure carved into the mountain, with massive wooden doors, stone floors, broad corridors, darker side doorways, vaulted interior space, braziers, deep chambers, living quarters, and a main meeting room inside the mountains. Its council space holds a large timber table and a high-backed head chair. Stone roads in Rimvold converge near the hall, and a large skyship dock stands nearby.
Rimvold Command
The Great Hall is where Rimvold's rulers and commanders receive visitors, summon councils, assign missions, review maps, plan defenses, and coordinate armies. Thalion gathers patriarchs there after reaching Rimvold and later uses it for the Order's formal organization, planning meetings, scout intelligence, and preparations against the remaining Malverand powers. Skarnheim leaders and visiting allies, including Sigurd, Svanhild, Halgarr, Thorik, Silas, Jin, and Eira, pass through the hall during Skarnheim's responses to Varnhallow, Bjarnholt's darkness onslaught, and the shaper threat.
Vaults and Gate
Deep beneath the Great Hall, Rimvold contains a hidden gate embedded almost entirely within the mountain, with an exit leading outside. Thalion orders stairs built down to the gate and a nearby vault for plans, books, and valuables. The vaults later hold old records, including The Eleven Stories of Old, and Halgarr controls access when Kren, Vianna, Jin, and Svanhild examine or copy the stored volumes.
Later Occupation
During Zain's occupation of Rimvold, Zain stands outside the Great Hall after conquering the city and uses the hall to arrange the defense of Rimvold and send forces back toward Ulzathir. Under Zain's occupation, the hall is where Zain reviews logistics, examines Ishqari's Gabriel-made changes, and prepares the city defense.
