Overview
Ishqari is Ozaith's daughter, Zain's sister, and the head researcher on Ulzathir's council after Ozaith's death. She backs Zain's modernization of Ulzathir, works to adapt essence-powered ship and weapons technology, and Gabriel enhances her with his snowflake crystal during the Siege of Rimvold.
Appearance
Ishqari has nearly black hair and eyes before Gabriel's changes, and she wears black robes while serving Zain's forces. After Gabriel's snowflake crystal disappears while kept with her, white frost-like lines spread across her body, her skin begins to whiten, her eyes turn white, more of her hair turns white, tiny snowflake particles glow within her, and her body radiates cold.
Magic and Research
Ishqari is a divine, ice, and cosmic mage. She shapes dark blue cosmic essence into technical schematics and develops advanced aethership and sandship designs using essence technology. After the invasion of Solvarria, Zain assigns her and her researchers to study captured Solvarrian technology and test it in Ulzathir's sandships.
At Rimvold, Ishqari fights through blizzard magic. Gabriel trains her to increase her output; while sustaining the storm, she dances in a calm bubble within the blizzard and cannot defend herself or cast other spells. The snowstorm disrupts Virel's army, draws Virel toward Gabriel, and reduces Ulzathir's losses.
History
After Ozaith's death, Ishqari sits on Zain's council and conjures schematics for sleeker aethership designs. She agrees with Zain that Ozaith held Ulzathir back and asks whether the invasion of Solvarria is meant to secure Solvarrian technology. With Archibald's cooperation, her researchers later begin integrating Solvarrian advances into Ulzathir's sandships.
When Raphael offers Malverand technology, Ishqari asks where it will come from; Archibald's researchers have already been useful. Gabriel arrives soon afterward to teach Ishqari and gives her a smooth snowflake crystal during the Rimvold preparations. The crystal is dangerous and unstable, and it leaves a piece of Gabriel inside Ishqari.
At Rimvold, Ishqari and Gabriel create a battlefield-scale blizzard while Zain defends the city. Maric's Kharvos-linked intervention burns away the snowstorm and forces Gabriel into combat; Ishqari survives, returns to Ishtanûr with white eyes and more white hair, and later remains in the capital to oversee its defenses while Zain moves against Thalassai's hold on Solvarria.
