Overview
Cyrena is the brilliant, eccentric head of the Nexus Research Center in Chronasis and leads Thalassai's gate research beneath Stella Aeterna. Thalena trusts her with dangerous experimental work beneath the palace, and Cyrena continues leading the center's technical staff during Cassian's rule.
Appearance and Personality
Cyrena has bright pink or pink-dyed hair, often mussed by work, and an enchanted or mechanical arm with a bronze cuff and metal-clad hand. She is energetic, blunt, playful, and intensely curious, shifting quickly between jokes, tests, and commands for the researchers around her.
Research Work
Cyrena works on the ancient gate beneath Chronasis, resonance communication devices, aether artifacts, windweaver upgrades, train and track systems, shields, and containment tools. She studies how Cassian's essence activates gate symbols, prepares tests with Kaelion, Eira, Zayren, and Deylin, and tunes the center's devices to him.
After the gate opens, Cyrena and the researchers monitor the void beyond it, react to the asteroid-like anomaly that strikes Deylin, and develop safer travel and communication between Chronasis, Irrathis, and Xalmyrra. With Deylin, she creates an essence core from captured divine power, later builds shields for Cassian's protection, and spends two decades designing barriers against gods who might target Cassian and that core.
Later Activity
Cyrena joins Jareth, Thalvian, Zayren, and the Nexus researchers on transport and gate projects. She builds working prototypes from Thalena's train idea, teaches the legions how to build tracks, and participates in Deylin's later gate experiments. After Abraxas becomes the black box, Cyrena prepares the gate for Jareth's void experiment; after the attack on Pyrenis, she brings out a hollow essence core and locks away the dangerous black particles.
