Overview
Maraveth is the capital city and government seat of the Malverand Intergalactic Empire on that empire's version of Valrindor. Emperor Isandro rules from Isandro's Palace, a domed palace at the city center. Rafe is Maraveth's overseer and a close advisor to Isandro.
The city echoes the older capital through white-and-gold architecture, gilded spires, glass skybridges, and imperial symbolism.
Cityscape
Maraveth is a vast, crowded metropolis with layered streets, metallic and glass skyscrapers, aerial traffic, crisscrossing trains, personal vessels, warpships, holograms, and public displays. Its grand starport handles most interplanetary arrivals and departures, and public broadcasts can carry Isandro's warnings or government messages across the skyline.
The city depends on low-essence technology: scanners, wrist devices, autonomous systems, lasers, and communication, defense, and navigation systems handled by the Maraveth Core. Visitors from the essence-rich Valrindor receive warnings against local magic use, specialized clothing, and devices that contain their essence and protect local systems.
Government and Palace
Isandro's Palace is both the emperor's residence and a government hub. Its public areas include grand entrances, wide stairs, ornate halls, meeting rooms, windows over the city, security access points, and residential quarters for Isandro and his advisors.
The secured Maraveth Core Chamber beneath or deep within the palace houses the red Maraveth Core, the gate used for Amos's void dives, and machinery that tracks official ships, steers navigation, handles communications and research data, and directs weapon production during the Proxion evacuation and Zarephon breach.
History
In 5369 AX, Thalena flies through Maraveth toward Isandro's palace after reaching the Malverand world. Her approach triggers combat ships, alarms, officers, lasers, and public warnings before she enters the palace and is shot by Rafe. Amos, Elias, and Luke follow her inside; her body is an essence-made copy created in the void, and its remaining essence is pulled toward Zarephon.
Afterward, Isandro's circle uses Maraveth to investigate the Zarephon breach, the Maraveth Core, and the capsule-bound traces recovered from the void. Eira, Kaelion, and Xarion later stay in the palace after arriving from the essence-rich Valrindor; Eira agrees to check the breach, Kaelion and Xarion compare origin magic with Isandro's technology, and Isandro considers using Abraxas against the Spiral Mandate threat.
