Rafe transferred Luke and Elias from Chronasis's officers to service under the emperor's advisors. Luke then accompanied Eamon to Zarephon during the emergency caused by the enlarged breach.

Luke piloted Isandro's ships during Eira and Kaelion's visit to the empire, including their journeys to Vireen and the Hyperion and Proxion systems. At Proxion, he monitored the evacuation ships and tracked Kaelion and Xarion as they flew toward the sun. After Kaelion destroyed the Spiral Mandate fleet, Luke located both men and guided an unmanned rescue vessel to retrieve them.
