Vashir is an Ereshval mage who served on its northern frontier alongside his twin brother, Drashir. They commanded its expedition into the Plains of Eternity.
Appearance and magic
Vashir wears ordinary white robes despite his rank. He uses water, earth and air magic. His experience at the plains' border helped him adapt to their unstable essence. He can right ships with water magic and ride sand tornadoes into battle.
History
Vashir and Drashir wanted to discover why the plains were expanding and sending beasts against Ereshval. They housed Kaelion and Jin while preparing ships for an expedition. Vashir presented their request to Sultan Tharezh, who agreed in exchange for Kaelion teaching temporal magic. The brothers then successfully evacuated the northern border on the sultan's orders.
When Isandriel reached Qarezh, Vashir introduced him to Kaelion, who joined the combined expedition. Vashir and Drashir commanded the Ereshval fleet. Vashir helped right a ship overturned by a huge fish and later insisted that discovering the cause of the plains' expansion remained part of their agreement, even after Isandriel found Viviana and Gren.
The brothers led their forces against the Myrravel army and helped round up its survivors and the Ulzathir traitors. The Order's skyships rescued Vashir from the tsunami. On the way to Rimvold, Drashir saw him aboard another rescue ship. They learned that Qarezh had been destroyed and resolved to rebuild their homeland.

The sultans of Ereshval
More than two decades after Thalion's departure, Vashir and Drashir had rebuilt much of Qarezh and become its twin sultans. They joined the Order of Thalion Zenith and concealed its dealings and the true history of the city's destruction. Later statues at the palace commemorated them as Ereshval's founders.
