Overview
Kazimir is a Morozkayan diarch in Kyranthos, ruling Morozkaya alongside Kyrana under Pyrathalor's protection. He is a powerful ice mage and Vianna's combat instructor. After Thalena captures Pyrathalor, Kazimir readies Morozkaya's armies and joins the expedition to recover him from Thalassai.
Appearance and Manner
Kazimir is an older man with icy white hair, a white beard, and glacial eyes. His bearing is restrained and strategic: he keeps council meetings focused, questions Kaldaryn's expansion, and argues for Morozkaya's freedom, alliances, and survival. He is protective of Vianna and insists she must survive the invasion of Thalassai even if he and Kyrana die.
Abilities
Kazimir uses ice magic at large scale. He trains Vianna alongside Kyrana until she can defeat both of them in sparring, forms barriers around the Spire of Triumvirate during the Brighthaven Civil War, and later creates ice walls, ice mountains, and frost constructs against Thalena. Virel assigns him to the fight against Thalena because his cold, together with Kyrana's fire and Vianna's frostfire, can disrupt her aether and temporal casting. During that fight, Kazimir also freezes a near-fatal wound from Vianna's glaive and heals himself with golden light.
History
Pyrathalor brings Vianna to the Ember Spire, where Kazimir and Kyrana accept her as the new wielder. Kazimir warns her about Kaldaryn's control over western Valrindor, trains her in the volcanic arena, gives her the Glaive of Frost and Fire, and welcomes her onto Morozkaya's council.
When Isaac asks for aid against Alistair, Kazimir leads a small Morozkayan force to Brighthaven while Kyrana remains behind to lead Morozkaya. After Pyrathalor is captured, Kazimir readies the armies, gathers allies, negotiates with Garrik, and signs a non-aggression pact with Kaldaryn.
Kazimir joins the expedition to recover Pyrathalor from Thalassai. Virel assigns Kazimir, Kyrana, and Vianna to confront Thalena directly because their fire and ice can disrupt her casting. Thalena eventually traps them with a golden shield and a singularity; Kazimir is pulled into the vortex and killed. Kazimir and Kyrana were former diarchs of Morozkaya killed during the invasion of Thalassai.
