Voss wanted to present Vianna, a fire and ice mage, as proof that Pyrathalor had returned in human form and take her into his custody. Isaac had been assigned to protect her. He trained her publicly and made her name known to deter Voss from acting against her.
Damian tried to restrain Voss, whose government secretly killed many people. Damian and Olivia planned to confront him. Explosions then broke out in Radiance Prime, Damian died, and Isaac helped Vianna's family flee north. He returned to stop the violence, but the city divided between his followers and Voss's.
