Overview
Feryon Aedrath is the supreme commander of Keldara, based in Varentis alongside Durvek. After Khoradyn steps away from command, Feryon keeps Keldara's military functioning, speaks for Keldara in Xalmyrran council matters, warns the council about activity north of Keldara, and brings Keldaran mages into allied defenses with leaders such as Aldar, Brynor, Daryas, Orin, and Xarion.
Feryon commands Keldara directly, while Xalmyrran leaders include him in council meetings, alliance negotiations, and field planning. Keldara's day-to-day leadership continues while Feryon travels, but Keldaran military obstruction still becomes a Xalmyrra-wide concern for Aldar.
Abilities and Style
Feryon is a fire mage with a flamboyant, unpredictable combat style. He flies and hovers by using flame from his boots or body, moves in erratic arcs, and fights with uneven bursts of fire, fireballs, intense heat, and theatrical spins or bows. His public style often looks absurd, but he maintains strong control beneath the performance during his duel with Eira.
Renneth can shift fire through blue, purple, and white forms, while Feryon uses flame for propulsion, erratic aerial fire strikes, scouting, and command. Feryon propels an ice boat across Keldara's wilderness, scouts enemy armies from the air, and leads Keldaran mages during Nerissa's Invasion of Xalmyrra.
History
At the Xalmyrran tournament of champions, Feryon competes as Supreme Commander Feryon Aedrath of Keldara and a friend of Brynor. He fights Eira in a deliberately ridiculous style, nearly exhausts her defenses with spiraling fire, then yields with a bow and praises her magic.
After Khoradyn leaves Keldara behind, Feryon and Durvek carry Keldara's day-to-day leadership from Varentis. Feryon spends time with Malcairn during his years in Keldara, spars with him, and remains part of the local circle around Durvek and Rhalyn. When a Keldaran general resists sending aid to Soltheris, Feryon has authority to overrule the obstructing general.
Feryon joins Renneth, Maric, Durvek, and Rhalyn in the investigation of the northern passage beyond Varentis. After the group encounters Krexyn, Feryon calls for mages, reinforcements, a road, and a wall, and promises Rhalyn that Keldara will not harm Krexyn.
Feryon later warns Xalmyrra about unusual activity north of Keldara and brings Keldaran mages to the defense of Erenmyr's coast during Nerissa's Invasion of Xalmyrra. He remains active afterward as Keldara's supreme commander and offers Keldaran aid for Soltheris's rebuilding.
Relationships
Feryon's closest command partner is Durvek, and both men work from Varentis in Keldara's military. He knows Kaelion from earlier Xalmyrran dealings, knows Isrynn from her missions in Keldara, travels with Rhalyn during the northern-passage investigation, and takes part in Xalmyrran council and alliance planning.
