Timeline

The Malverand Vault is an underground artifact repository beneath Maraveth in native Valrindor. Its enormous domed chamber is built from steel and dark stone, illuminated by essence lights and sealed behind a thick door of layered metal. It holds strange weapons and other artifacts from the Malverand Empire.

Origin

Michael commissioned Arcanis to build the vault deep beneath the Maraveth Ascendant Consulate. The construction was secret: the guardians wanted their powerful artifacts kept out of others’ reach. It was designed to block signals from the realm beyond. A gilded elevator descended into the warm chamber, where the emperor and guardians kept experimental cores and a star shard.

Temporal preservation

After Maraveth’s destruction, Eira located the hidden vault and directed its excavation. She opened it using instructions encoded in her Malverand heart and repurposed its glass cases and prototype engines. Powered by god and essence cores, the machinery held her companions and severed hands containing gods in temporal stasis. Thalion sealed the entrance, and the original Ozaith remained awake, rousing Eira periodically to check the systems.

Reopening

In 5369 AX, Brynor and Lysander reached the vault by excavating beneath Maraveth’s black tower. Its metal door opened when Brynor touched it. Inside, Eira stood beside an engine connected by thick cables to glass cases containing people and severed hands. Her companions had spent three millennia in temporal stasis and were dangerously weakened.

Eira directed the awakening, with Brynor moving the bodies, Lysander healing them and the original Ozaith helping reattach the hands containing Tianlei, Xoh’Tenol and Hrzai. The preserved group was brought out alive, including Xarion, Kaelion, Jin and Abraxas.
