Garrik's army attacked Blackcrag at Omberion, where Kjeldan led the defense. Explosive skyships forced Garrik to withdraw with heavy losses. Garrik then mobilized against Raphael at Cyndarel. Alistair detonated a device on the guardian's chest, killing Raphael, Khoradyn and Zhang. With Khoradyn and Zhang dead and Kren moving to Kyranthos, Garrik needed new commanders.
