Cyndarel is a city in central Valrindor, near Morindel, beside Cyndarel Lake. It was damaged during the Battle for Cyndarel.
Before the battle, oaks with orange leaves formed arches above its roads of pale green, blue and gray cobblestones. Light blue buildings had rounded roofs, broad overhangs and white wooden pillars. The regent ruled from the tallest building, and the city had central squares near its market.
Siege and aftermath
When Garrik investigated Rahmavir's presence in the city, its regent was missing. Kaldaryn besieged Cyndarel while Raphael and his allies held it behind shield generators. Civilians were initially allowed to leave, and Garrik's mages tried to avoid damaging the buildings.
Aldar surrounded the city with darkness and storms, trapping the forces inside. Fighting spread across the lake and surrounding land. Raphael froze the lake, while Aldar's fire melted half of it and expanding steam opened fissures across the lake. Alistair then detonated a bomb with a cosmic ray, killing Raphael, widening a crater and leaving the surrounding ground molten.
Azarion's uncontrolled hurricane drew in the darkness over Cyndarel. Kaldaryn later sent scouts to the city and continued relief work along the devastated front.
