Overview
Amaril is the head librarian, a respected teacher, and a trusted healer at the Tequaltor Magic School, formerly the Tequaltor War School. She is Razen's wife and a Tenari divine and resonance mage from Thalcoris.
Library Work and Healing
Amaril handles books, history, and library access for the Xalmyrran visitors sent to the war school under Razen and Amaril. She searches with Eira for material on Thalassai and the Wanderer, opens the library's room for books no longer considered useful, locates the Wanderer's copy of The Eleven Stories of Old, and gives Eira a Thalassai story collection.
Amaril primarily uses divine magic for healing. During public training at the war school, Amaril heals Razen after his duel with Cassian, another divine and resonance mage. She later heals Zayren after his duel with Kaelion, tends the injured when Tequaltor's control breaks, and reattaches Zayren's severed arm after the attack at Xalatun.
History
Before Eira's group arrives in Tequaltor, Jin spends several weeks in the city as the Wanderer of Xolterra. He studies in the city libraries, copies another edition of The Eleven Stories of Old, and gives it to Amaril in the war school's library.
When Tazarin sends Eira, Kaelion, Cassian, and Lythariel to the war school, Amaril teaches them and directs Eira toward records on the shared history of Xolterra, Thalassai, and Xalmyrra. After the hidden control over the Tenari breaks, Amaril is aware of the Tenari's actions without understanding why, then goes with Kaelion and Tazarin toward Xalatun and spends two days healing survivors.

During the Xalmyrran coastal defense against Nerissa's coalition and Gabriel's essence bombs, she stands with Tazarin, Razen, and Ziyara in the Thalcoris contingent when Brynor sacrifices himself to contain one of the bombs.
