Overview
Xalmyrran is the shared language of Xalmyrra. It descends from the atraxi tongue, which spreads from Irrathis through Valcirae, Varentis, trade, and cultural exchange until it becomes the unifying tongue across Teryndal, Soltheris, Erenmyr, and Keldara.
Use and Variants
Xalmyrran is used in daily speech and writing. Xalmyrrans and fluent outsiders speak it. Inscriptions, books, and old texts preserve it. Malverine is the common tongue of Valrindor.
Mixed or altered forms also exist. Gren and Jin both encounter books combining Xalmyrran with Valrindor languages and words they cannot fully identify, and Zayren speaks a rough Xalmyrran variation that Eira can still understand.
Earth and Ancient Traces
The Earth pyramid gate carries Xalmyrran text because Thalion inscribes "Welcome to Planet Dirt" on it during Ozaith's gate-completion work.
On Crete, Linear A inscriptions resemble Xalmyrran and include the Data-Scar name.
