Valcirae is a large inland city within Xalmyrra and the capital of Erenmyr. A dense forest canopy conceals much of the city, making it difficult to see from airships. It is home to Orin and a center of divine magic and magical learning.
Forest city
Homes grow out of ancient trees, with their boughs entwined into buildings. Sunlight filters through the canopy onto verdant streets, and flowering vines adorn the living architecture. An airship dock stands at the back of the city. Valcirae lies far inland from Erenmyr’s northern coast.
Valcirae Magic School
The school’s corridors run beneath entwined branches, and stairs are carved into living wood. A massive hollow tree forms its heart. Carved wooden panels line a hallway leading to Orin’s office, a natural hollow with an oaken desk and large bookshelves. Students wear green robes.
The archives lie beneath a towering trunk. A glowing passage leads into the tree, where a curved staircase of polished wood descends to an arched door. Shelves fill the chamber with books, scrolls and student records. Lythariel studied at the school.
Divine mages maintain a glowing shield around Valcirae. The city survived the Cataclysm with little damage, although some outlying villages were badly hit. When two mages pursuing Eira attacked, Orin defended the city while she escaped west with Cassian and Lythariel. He had healed Eira’s exhausted mind at the school before their departure.
