Overview
Malverine is the common tongue of Valrindor, created in the ancient Malverand Empire and inherited by later Valrindor societies. It remains in everyday use across Valrindor and persists in Malverand-descended societies, including the Malverand Intergalactic Empire. It is used in speech, books, inscriptions, city signs, records, museum displays, and machine symbols.
Structure and Use
Malverine is a constructed language created to unify the early Malverand Empire. Arcanis and his researchers designed it with an enormous vocabulary for words, expressions, and specialized meanings. Eremion and his wife Aruviel also contributed to its redesign.
The language has a broad vocabulary and far more words than speakers realistically use. Xalmyrran descends from the atraxi language, so inscriptions from atraxi remnants can read as Xalmyrran to later Xalmyrran speakers. Old, formal, dialectal, and imperfect forms survive: ancient inscriptions use ancient Malverine, Qarezh has a reduced dialect, Zarephon-area speech can be slightly broken, and Tharran preserves Malverine in public signs and ancient histories alongside another local language.
Xalmyrran, Serekhi, the language spoken by Abraxas and the Oracles, origin-magic murals, and languages from farther north remain active in their own regions and traditions.
History
Barachiel turned Malverine into a tool of imperial control after Arcanis created it. He banned non-Malverine languages across Malverand, sent language enforcers to prevent drift, and assigned the gods to preserve Malverine's empirewide use. Nahm and Pyrathalor promote the universal-language project to Tianlei, and Ozaith later adopts it.
After the Fall of Malverand, Malverine survives as Valrindor's common tongue and a cultural inheritance from the lost empire. Thalassai records, Varnhallow speech, Ereshval dialects, Thiravosi and Theryssan history, Tharendur books, Malverand museum displays, and intergalactic Malverand machinery all preserve the language or its descendants.
Inscriptions and Records
Across scattered Valrindor societies, Malverine inscriptions and records preserve a shared Malverand past. They often mark old gates, hidden powers, ancient technologies, or surviving branches of Malverand culture.

Secrets and Mysteries
Malverine's redesign belongs to Eira's closed temporal history: as Aruviel, she contributes to a language inherited by her own future.
