War and reconstruction
Simon Calesso led an assault against Ishtanûr, but its defenders replaced destroyed cosmic and divine shield generators to protect the city's heart. Zhulkar, Archibald and Khezriya held the city. Simon withdrew his force after an astragon warned against continuing the attack.
During the assault led by Cassian, Zayren formed a singularity beyond the eastern outskirts. Zain's gravity attack forced him to release it; the blast devastated the eastern buildings, tore apart the river course and left a vast crater. The Citadel remained largely intact immediately after the blast, although the fighting left it partly ruined.
Khauren took over Zain's body as he fled the city. Cassian and Alistair defeated him outside the capital, erasing the host's body. Anshar assumed control. By his coronation, the gilded roads had been repaired and enough of the Citadel had been rebuilt to house a functioning government. Citizens gathered to see him crowned with Cassian's support.
