The Alliance of Gods brings together gods and their shard wielders to defeat the darkness. Xelthys coordinated the plan, with Tianlei and Zal'therak working through Jin and Silas.
Tianlei prepared Jin to protect Eira after she stole Xol'Zahir's shard. The allies intended to keep her safe from Xol'Zahir's disciples until she could defeat him. Zal'therak chose Malcairn as his wielder, telling him that someone capable of wielding the shard had arrived. Malcairn freed him from his prison in Shroudvale and took the name Silas. Zal'therak guided him toward Xalmyrra.
The gods exchanged news while their wielders traveled. When Eira was taken by Xol'Zahir, Zal'therak and Silas sought help in northern Valrindor. Xelthys remained absent, leaving the other gods to continue the work.
The Alliance of Gods was cooperation between gods and their shard wielders to defeat the darkness and end Jorhan's rule over Xalmyrra. Hrzai, acting as Xelthys, recruited gods to the plan she developed with Thalena. Their work culminated in the end of the final Xalmyrran cycle.
Coordination and plans
At Thalena's direction, Hrzai secured the cooperation of Tianlei and Zal'therak, and approached Tal'Massar to involve Isaac. Tianlei prepared Jin to protect Eira after she stole Xol'Zahir's shard. The plan he described was to keep her safe from Xol'Zahir's disciples until she could defeat him. Zal'therak chose Malcairn, who took the name Silas, as his wielder and guided him from Shroudvale toward Xalmyrra. The gods exchanged information through the God Realm, while their wielders traveled between the threatened lands.
Thalena and Hrzai also enlisted Xoh'Tenol. He was to strengthen Kaelion and help him destroy the gate outside Dravemir, drawing Jorhan into a confrontation. Hrzai directed Brynor to destroy the separate Aethrendar Gate. Thalena would finish the fight after Xoh'Tenol weakened Jorhan. The full plan was concealed from Kaelion.
Ozaith, Nahm, and Pyrathalor also discussed defeating Xol'Zahir, but gave priority to their war against Thalassai. Nahm and Virel expected action against the darkness to follow that invasion.
End of the darkness
Kaelion destroyed the Dravemir gate, and Brynor destroyed the Aethrendar Gate. During Kaelion's fight with Jorhan, Jorhan released the spell that confined the darkness within Xalmyrra. The darkness receded and the surrounding storms vanished. Xoh'Tenol then descended to fight him, and Thalena completed his defeat after the god withdrew. Hrzai, Zal'therak, and Xoh'Tenol appeared with Thalena before the gathered leaders of Xalmyrra afterward.
