She urged Eira to help sustain their people in exchange for Jorhan removing the storms around Xalmyrra. Eshmir also comforted Eira when the burden of saving both peoples overwhelmed her.

Eshmir fled the dying Atraxis system with Jorhan, Amos, Jareth and Belanor. They escaped through a gate installed aboard their last spaceship, emerged above the Aethrendar Sea and swam to shore. They settled in Irrathis, where Eshmir and Jorhan trained together.
Aldred expelled the pure atraxi from Xalmyrra because their excessive use of essence was corrupting the land. They moved to the western island, where Jorhan found a spiral shard. Eshmir protected Belanor and the other disciples with divine shields during his first outburst of power. When a wave of destructive essence swept across the island, she fled to the boats in bursts of lightning and escaped with the survivors. She later lived with Jorhan in Atraxis Prime.

Eshmir pursued Eira to the gate in western Erenmyr, where Jin Leiyun defeated her. She escaped by crushing a device in her hand.

Finding the Dravemir gate and the Aethrendar gate destroyed, she returned and accepted Eira's offer to protect her in Irrathis. Eshmir carried Eira through the void to the city.
Zayren flew them toward Jorhan. Eshmir and Ilyra shielded the group when the shard bonded to Aldar. At the battle, Eshmir blocked Arcanis's sword with a divine shield, lifted the wounded Jorhan and carried him away. She brought him back to Atraxis Prime, healed him and asked Brynor to spare his life.
