Overview

A chronarc is an elite official of Chronasis appointed by the city's archon. Thalena creates the office after becoming archon of Space and Time, appointing chronarcs as assistants who oversee much of Chronasis alongside her. The office remains in Chronasis's government and continues under Cassian.

Duties

Chronarcs are high-ranking officials who manage Chronasis administration, construction, agriculture, exports, healer training, research oversight, diplomacy, and emergency command from Stella Aeterna. They answer to archons and deal with imperators, legati, regional leaders, officials, and attendants; when Cassian inherits Thalena's seat, the chronarcs and Chronasis's regional leaders endorse him.

Chronarcs can also be powerful mages, researchers, or combatants. Thalena's chronarcs include temporal, divine, and aether specialists; Nethira defends Chronasis after the timerift attack in Stella Aeterna, and Astryx patrols Pyrenis during the Attack on Pyrenis response.

Chronarcs

Lunorax is made a chronarc by Thalena in his twenties and becomes her friend, student, second-in-command, and a highly efficient Chronasis official. He eventually resigns as archon of air so he can remain close to Thalena as her chronarc.

Nethira and Astryx are chronarcs under Thalena and remain in Cassian's Chronasis administration. Nethira is a healer and administrator who manages essence cores. Astryx is responsible for construction and administration and often travels for Chronasis or handles its diplomacy.

Arinella becomes a chronarc under Cassian after a vacancy opens in Chronasis's administration. Cassian appoints Deylin and Ilyra as chronarcs: Deylin oversees agriculture and technological research. Ilyra trains and organizes healers.

Anshar manages Chronasis affairs with enough efficiency that Cassian considers officially granting him the position.
