History
The Doss identity
Alistair brought an agent called Alistair Doss from Brighthaven to Rahmavir to investigate its conflict with the Oracles. His agents trained apprentices who inherited their code names. When he returned after two centuries, he found Doss still in Rahmavir but could not tell whether the agent was the same man.
Zarephon and Cyndarel
The current Doss served among the chosen in Zarephon. Alistair, operating as Alice, had her copy that disguise and take Severin to Cyndarel. Severin believed Alice had remained with him while Alistair stayed behind and destroyed Zarephon. On the return flight, Doss exchanged places with Alistair, then rejoined the survivors and claimed the explosion had caught her while fishing in the forest. She took over piloting the skyship back to Cyndarel while Alistair rested.
Alistair assigned her to watch Myrelia. Doss reported the princess's attunement to Gabriel's crystal and gave him three of the explosive devices he had entrusted to her before destroying Zarephon.
When Ravira led the first group through the darkness surrounding Cyndarel, Doss escaped inside her shield with Alistair and Eliona. Doss and Alistair then concealed themselves outside the veil. He ordered her to contact the mages waiting outside while he approached Zayren. Doss survived the battle and later rejoined Eliona in Calaris.
Relationships
- Alistair: Doss is one of his closest companions and follows his orders. He trusted her to impersonate Alice and report on other mages, but she did not know his origin or full plans.
