Overview
Boss is one of Alistair's operatives, a volatile origin magic user whose power feeds Rahmavir's weapon development. Alistair hides Boss's name and background, and Boss's associates know him as Boss.
Alistair recruits Boss while embedding agents in Zarephon and searching for potent origin-magic users. Boss's power erupts unpredictably and violently, making him dangerous to handle; Alistair uses that volatility for spell-disruption research.
Magic and Weapons
Alistair and the entity working with him devise a way for Boss to infuse unstable magic into a container. When fired with a delayed temporal spell or detonated manually by a temporal mage, the container explodes and destroys or destabilizes nearby spells. This research feeds Rahmavir's spellblaster and origin-bomb tactics.
During the stalemate over Cyndarel, Kjeldan can detonate Boss's origin bombs from afar. Boss is kept between Ralvon and Kjeldan under guard so Rahmavir's forces can preserve their volatile origin-magic source.
History
Boss travels south near Varnhallow with Alistair, Severin, Doss, and Rahmavir chosen when Alistair's organization joins Raphael's coalition. Alistair leaves Doss and Boss to oversee preparations for the Halvarim meeting while he works on source plans with Severin.
During the Battle for Cyndarel, Boss stands with Kjeldan and rows of spellblasters as Raphael's side prepares to attack the Order. Boss dies before Severin reaches Therendros after the Battle for Cyndarel and the storm that follows.
