The Legacy of Thalion Zenith is Thalena’s record of Thalion Zenith and the Order. It recounts Thalion’s deeds, his loyal followers and the creation of the Order, whose elite mages served him directly. The work preserves a history the Order deliberately kept secret.
The Varnhallow copy
Eltaru gave Thalion a copy in Varnhallow before the tournament intended to end the temporal anomaly. It had a simple, highly polished cover with an embossed title. Thalion read it with Tianlei’s help. Its accounts named guardians and their regions, with particular attention to Morindel.
When Thalion and Aelius read it during the ancient wars, its explanations were vague and many of its events had yet to occur. It gave them an outline of their task, rather than detailed instructions. After reaching ancient Rimvold, Thalion connected its account of the Order to his responsibility in the war against Malverand.
Thalena had also told Aelius tales called The Legacy of Thalion during his childhood. He remembered the name when Xarion began using Thalion as his own.
The hidden record
Cassian found a copy behind a bookshelf and stone wall in Thalassai’s Room of Records. Its opening remembered the Order’s forgotten members and insisted that their history remain secret. He recognized Thalena as its author and questioned her about Thalion. She closed the book and explained that Thalion had ordered the erasure of Malverand’s history and forbidden the Order to speak of themselves. She then rewound the encounter, leaving Cassian without its revelations.

Eira read the closing message after entering the anomaly and showed the book to Eltaru and Sigvariel. Its account showed them the later results of their work. Eltaru thanked her for delivering it.
Michael later handed it to Horol’Khai, who recognized its material as a more detailed version of a chapter in The Eleven Stories of Old. The two books remained distinct volumes.

Jin wrote a heavily revised version in Thalassai called The Forgotten Order. It combined his experiences with those of Kaelion, Eira and Thalena while retaining Thalion’s ancient history and the wars against the guardians. Cassian kept a copy on his shelf.
