Overview
Garadon is a city in southern Rahmavir, slightly north of the Malverand military base. It is home to a coalition of Rahmavir tribes and has a local hall of chosen where the city's chosen leaders receive envoys, coordinate scouts, and respond to military developments.
Cityscape
Garadon is a sprawling, functional city of tall, blocky dark-stone structures interwoven with polished wood. Its wide, tall buildings are self-sustaining, housing more than one family and keeping markets and tailors inside. This design leaves the streets wide and sparsely laid out.
The hall of chosen has massive stone doors, dark-wood corridors, broad stone stairs, guarded entrances, and formal rooms used by the local chosen. Garadon's western outskirts include an airship port, and Rahmavir's sleek silver skyships and airships connect the city to places such as Blackcrag and Halvarim.
History
Thamrielle knew Garadon from Malverand's early diplomatic contact with Rahmavir, visiting with Michael and later with Phariel. After killing an envoy over a prophecy about Barachiel, she travels there with elite mages and speaks to the chosen about the Eternal War between Rahmavir and the Oracles over the source.
After Raphael's revival, Raphael, Eliona, Azarion, and Ralvon use Garadon's hall of chosen for planning and scout coordination. Eliona and Azarion leave the city by airship for eastern Blackcrag, then return after the ancient Order emerges from the Malverand vault. With Raphael absent, Garadon's chosen leaders dispatch scouts across Valrindor to investigate the Order's return. Eliona and Azarion remain in the city until Ralvon returns.
Garadon also remains a destination for Rahmavir-bound survivors and diplomats. After the mountain blast near Myriandel, survivor ships head for Garadon. Alice carries Eliona, Azarion, and Myrelia toward Cyndarel. Alistair reaches the city after disembarking near Meraldun because the entity sends him to handle diplomacy in Rahmavir.
