When the darkness rapidly consumed parts of Bjarnholt, Thorik joined a meeting in Rimvold to seek reinforcements. He suspected Silas, Eira and Lythariel of bringing the darkness to Valrindor. Silas explained that they opposed Xol’Zahir and arranged for Lythariel to protect Stormhaven while the others searched for Eira.
Thorik doubted that she could restore corrupted land, but agreed to take her south. She insisted that she would leave if she heard news of Eira. Thorik carried her on an enchanted shield as he rode his axe to Bjarnholt.

The return to Rimvold
Thorik helped Lythariel, Kazehiro and Glin cross the sea to Chronasis, using his runic magic to carry Thalena's heavy bag. He praised Lythariel for restoring Bjarnholt's corrupted land and improving its people's lives.
He later joined Haverloch and Morozkaya against the forces occupying Rimvold. Though reluctant to kill people, he fought on the front lines with his lightning axe. Their first attack ended in retreat. Thorik and Leif subsequently reclaimed the city, and Lythariel remained to help restore it.
Thorik returned to Stormhaven, where he welcomed Silas and his companions. He honored Sigurd's wish to remain in Thalassai and supported Zayren's proposal for Lythariel to remove the darkness between Durakarn and Brighthaven, which would benefit Bjarnholt. Silas agreed to take her there.
