Overview
Arashiiwa is the clan leader of Hanamizu in Shanari, an older man with a white beard who receives Renneth and Maric after Kazehiro brings them into the city. He speaks for Hanamizu's caution around mainland Valrindor and its interest in future diplomacy if the ocean crossing can be solved.
History
Before Renneth and Maric arrive, Hanamizu's divine detectors caught a group that tried to sneak into the city on behalf of Eremion during the Maraveth War. Hanamizu made no agreement with them, and Nerissa's wielder later warned Hanamizu's people to stay away from the mainland.
During Renneth and Maric's visit, Arashiiwa invites the travelers into the clan building, listens to their account of Xalmyrra and mainland Valrindor, opens Hanamizu to diplomatic contact if faster airships can cross the ocean, and hosts them in guest chambers. He later joins a Shanari force after first declining, and Gabriel directs that force toward Erenmyr.
