Overview
Stormbrook is a village in southern Thundermarch. It is a farming settlement with a brook, rice paddies, and surrounding farmlands in ancient Valrindor, in Jin's youth, and along the Soltheris-Thundermarch rail route. In Jin's youth, it lies near the encroaching darkness and is his home village. The villagers praise his affinity for lightning dragon arts and expect him to become a chosen of Tianlei.
Ancient Valrindor
In ancient Valrindor, Stormbrook stands near cracked farmlands, a broad river, and the wall of darkness. Thalion saves the village from umbral stalkers and ebon wraiths, heals Zhenyu Leiyun, and accepts the villagers' worship of him as Tianlei. After learning Zhenyu's full name, he leaves Sephara in Stormbrook to train Zhenyu and the village in lightning magic.
John, Ignatius, Zero, and Kallion later gather there under Thalion's orders. They live in the village for years, teach magic, aid nearby settlements, summon storms in secret with Sephara, and deepen local worship of Tianlei.
Jin's Home
Jin leaves Stormbrook to train at Cloudrift Temple, hoping to gain enough strength and money to protect his family and move the villagers to safety before the darkness reaches them. The darkness attacks Stormbrook before he can do so. Jin and Zhang return after the darkness attack on Stormbrook. The darkness obliterates the rice fields, hollows the houses, and leaves the villagers dead or corrupted. Jin's mother, father, and sister die inside his childhood home, and the loss drives his anger toward Feng Raoyun, Ren Wuye, and Thundermarch's abandoned southern settlements.
Rail Route
After Soltheris finishes the rail route to Thundermarch, Stormbrook stands on the Thundermarch side of the mountain route from Xalmyrra. Train tracks with high metal guardrails run toward it, and Brynor reaches its train platform among farmlands, rice fields, and waiting passengers.
