Overview
The God Realm is Valrindor's divine essence realm. The gods reside and convene there, and they act in mortal regions through essence.
Nature
The realm can manifest as an endless white divine plane, a grand hall, or a mirrored palace-like space. It is the birthplace of gods: divine beings begin or stabilize there, then see the mortal world through the essence network below them.
Gods search through followers who share their essence, and move through essence. Gods exist across the realm. Their strength and reach depend on available essence and followers.
Gods can remain partly in the God Realm and act through descended bodies, shards, followers, or wielders. When a descended body is destroyed, a god can dissolve back into the God Realm.
History
In the Malverand era, Arcanis creates first-generation god cores.
Thalena repeatedly studies gates as a way to reach the God Realm. Khauren seeks freedom from it through Zain, Ulzathir's belief, and origin-magic damage to the realm itself.
While Khauren works through Zain, the God Realm deteriorates. Patches, cracks, strange walls, passages of nothingness, and empty chasms begin disrupting travel and communication between gods. Origin magic weakens the gods' ability to remain there by severing the essence veins that let them stay in the realm. Khauren's use of origin magic threatens to collapse the God Realm as part of his attempt to escape into Zain's body and outmaneuver rival gods.
