Overview
Dravemir is a fortified border city in southern Soltheris, on the edge of the Land of Darkness. It guards the route toward Zeydrith, anchors Soltheris's southern defenses, and is the departure point for expeditions into the darkness.
Cityscape
Dravemir is a walled city with citadel walls, southern gates, taverns, crowded streets, watchtowers, and nearby villages and farmland. The Land of Darkness lies south of the city and is visible from its walls. During darkness surges, the surrounding terrain becomes warped, desolate, and scarred.
After its destruction and reconstruction, Dravemir's wall again surrounds the city. Thalvian helped redesign the rebuilt city, whose architecture resembles Zeydrith's cosmic-inspired style and uses dark stone with obsidian from the eastern mountains.
Strategic History
Dravemir was already a thriving southern Xalmyrran hub before the Land of Darkness reaches Soltheris again. Under Aurion's reign, umbral stalkers and ebon wraiths assault the city from the Land of Darkness. Aurion, Kaelric, Daryas, Seralyth, soldiers, mages, and healers defend the walls. Aurion saves the city with overwhelming cosmic magic. The magic drains people and land around him and leaves political consequences for Soltheris.
Dravemir later becomes the staging ground for Brynor's expedition into the Land of Darkness. Brynor, Mirael, Khoradyn, Kaelric, Astheron, and Orin depart through the southern gate with orreries, a darkness repeller, supplies, and route markers. Near the city, a hidden half-circle gate provides travel between Xalmyrra and Atraxis Prime for Jorhan's disciples.
Dravemir comes under siege when the darkness returns in force. Cosmic signal formations rise from Dravemir and nearby watchtowers, and Dravemir stands between the darkness and Zeydrith. During Jorhan's clash with Arcanis, Jorhan crashes into Dravemir and obliterates it, leaving a massive crater. The city is evacuated before its destruction, and Aldar later organizes work to rebuild it.
