Overview
The Dahruz Desert is a vast desert in Ulzathir and the largest desert in Valrindor. Its dunes stretch north of Ishtanûr and form the sandship route toward Khaladun's docks in northern Ulzathir.
Geography
The desert has shifting sand, distant mountains, sporadic waterholes, and smaller oases where desert birds gather. Evening light can turn the dune ridges amber and violet. A sandship crossing from Ishtanûr toward Khaladun takes a few days, with air mages filling the sails and aether mages helping balance the vessel across the dunes.
History
Viviana, Aurelia, Gren, Sharuzh, and Tarazhi cross the Dahruz Desert by sandship during the Ulzathir-Myrravel march toward the source. The crossing ends when Khaladun appears on the horizon at the desert's far side.
During the Rimvold-siege buildup, Zain looks north from Ishtanûr toward the desert during a conversation with Khauren. He then follows the desert's boundary near a main road as he flies west toward Brahzûn.
