Overview
Xoh’Metztli is the moon goddess of Thalcoris. Tenari religion worships her with Xoh’Tenol, and her followers and moon shard wielder are based in Aurivallis. She uses the moon shard, mortal wielders, and priestess resonance songs to control Aurivallis and other Tenari communities. Tenari tradition credits Xoh’Metztli and Xoh’Tenol with answering Thalcoris's ancestors at Tequaltor, choosing first wielders, and fighting Xol'Zahir's darkness.
Moon Shard
Xoh’Metztli's shard rests in the wielder's palm. In the Temple of Resonance, Meliora's shard rests in her hand with light moving inside it as Xoh’Metztli acts through her.
Control of Thalcoris
Through moon shard wielders such as Meliora, Xoh’Metztli controls Aurivallis and Tenari people beyond the city with resonance magic, voices, songs, and mental pressure. Thalena, Tazarin, and Draven Skyforge each kill a moon wielder, but Xoh’Metztli chooses another vessel each time. Each new moon wielder keeps Xoh’Metztli's bargain with Xol'Zahir: Tenari essence feeds the darkness and keeps Xolterra intact after Xalmyrra's fall.
After previous-cycle refugees reach Tequaltor, Xoh’Metztli stands with Xandor. After the first victory over the darkness, Khoradyn and Orin break from Xandor and Xoh’Metztli, reject divine rule, and lead the people who become Thalassai south.
Death and Aftermath
Cassian reaches Aurivallis and frees Arinella from a renewed intrusion. Xoh’Metztli remains inside Meliora, so Cassian kills Meliora, grips the shard-bearing palm, and destroys Xoh’Metztli's escaping essence before it can return to the God Realm. Her death breaks the spell over Aurivallis and the Tenari.
