Overview
Tazil is Helena Hyperion's sibling and classmate in Ulzathir. During Helena's childhood in the Council Citadel, he is an aether-magic prodigy who competes with Mithara over the chance to become the next wielder of Ozaith.
History
In 2090 AX, Tazil sits in Nadun's classroom with Helena, Mithara, and their other siblings. He accuses Nadun of favoring Helena, throws a pebble into Helena's arm, objects to helping Helena in Myrravel, calls Helena weak, and asks what is happening there.
In 2092 AX, he aims another pebble at Helena during a lesson. Helena avoids it, and the pebble strikes Ezunil. In 2094 AX, Tazil apologizes to Helena in the gardens. Another temporal mage with cosmic magic has arrived, and Helena investigates Sariel.
By 2096 AX, Helena counts Tazil among the siblings who ask how she is doing while she hides Alistair's private lessons. Helena believes Tazil is being chosen as the new shard wielder, and Tazil is sent to Ulzathir's northern front near the Plains of Eternity and Myrravel after promising his mother he will return.
Abilities and Personality
Tazil's aether magic is strong enough to lift small objects in childhood. He is proud, competitive, and resentful toward Helena early on. He later apologizes for his past behavior.
