Overview
Tharran is the capital of Tharendur and a waypoint on the road toward the Plains of Eternity, Myriandel, and Zarephon. The route from Tharran to Myriandel and then to Zarephon is the easiest path for travelers trying to avoid disorientation in the Plains.
Geography and Cityscape
Tharran stands near Tharendur's border with the Plains. A river descends from mountains far to the north, winds through the land, and flows beside the capital. The city has no visible walls, and its streets branch from a main road into quieter side roads.
Black, rounded towers rise among modest houses, with buildings colored in dark greens, blues, and blacks that blend into the surrounding blue grass, green sky, and green-blue flora. Building signs use both Malverand and another local language. The city includes a small inn with a bell sign and nearly black wooden stairs, as well as a library-like building where books line the walls and ancient Tharendur history is written in Malverine.
People
Tharran is busy even late at night, with people of all ages walking through the streets. Most residents look human. Bark-like people also live in the capital. Villagers outside the city have root-, vine-, and branch-like hair, bark-like skin, and a harsh guttural language.
Visitors can pay at the inn and library with finely crafted essence cores.
History
During the approach to the source, Eira, Kaelion, Xarion, Marcellus, and Kazehiro choose the lowest-discovery route through Tharendur. The northern route around the Plains has unpredictable risks, and the southern route passes near Raphael's alliance. They pass the bark-skinned villagers, enter Tharran, rent rooms at the inn, and visit the library the next morning.
After leaving the capital, the group continues west of Tharendur along the road toward the Plains. They are intercepted soon afterward in the Battle west of Tharendur.
