Overview
Crosford, or Crosford City, is the capital of Calthorpe. It rests at the base of the Calthorpe Mountain Range near the Calthorpe Ocean.
Under Uriandel, Crosford is a Malverand military-production center that builds much of the machinery used against Jeremiah's forces. After Uriandel's dominion splinters, Calthorpe remains a smaller nation formed from the former domain, with Crosford as its capital.
Design and Military Presence
Crosford has Malverand-style architecture with clean lines, white stone, open courtyards, pale walls, and white buildings with gilded accents. A dark stone tower rises in the city, near skyship docks and a darker government hall or administrative building.
Skyships move through the city's docks and military formations. During Uriandel's preparations against Jeremiah, weaponized skyships, mages, and soldiers in pale white or brown clothing with blue accents gather around the city.
History
Isandriel reaches Crosford before Jeremiah's advance and meets Uriandel in the city's government hall, where Uriandel has gathered advisors and Sephara. The Crosford-plains battle between Uriandel and Jeremiah begins outside Crosford, after Jeremiah's forces approach from the Calthorpe Ocean and Uriandel's skyships and ground army form against them.
In 2103 AX, Skarnheim's relationship with Calthorpe is still developing, including trade negotiations with Crosford City. Helena, Benedict, and Sylvia travel there on a diplomatic mission and land near the dark tower. Crosford's nervous delegates lead them to a regent and advisors. Raphael is present in the city and attacks their fleeing skyship with massive ice magic after Helena's magic resets an earlier fatal outcome.
By 2107 AX, Crosford has slipped back into the grip of the Malverand Empire under Raphael's northern control, along with Ashenford and parts of Vintergard.
