Overview
Kytherite, or Kytheron-4A7, is an energy material used in Malverand warp-drive technology. Particles from the void entity contain Kytherite fragments and nanites.
During the Maraveth Core emergency, energy sources from other planets, especially Kytherite from Meridian in the Hyperion system, feed the main core. The core tracks and steers official ships, routes processing power to Proxion communications and evacuation, and supplies processing capacity for weapons research. Imperial leaders try to build another core, but it lacks enough power unless they can directly harness energy from a star.
Sources and Uses
Meridian is a Kytherite source, and Novaris is built partly from processed Kytherite remains alongside steel, contributing to the city's cyan-gray appearance.
Draxil in the Proxion system holds the richest known Kytherite deposits. Those deposits make Draxil a priority during the Proxion cutoff attack, and imperial leaders suspect the Spiral Mandate because the Mandate benefits from denying Malverand access to that material.
