Kytherite, also called Kytheron-4A7, is an energy material used as fuel in the Malverand Intergalactic Empire's warp-drive technology. Meridian in the Hyperion system supplies it, while Draxil in the Proxion system holds the richest known deposits.
Extraction and reuse
Imperial stations orbit Draxil to mine its Kytherite. The empire's largest project was a semi-ring around the planet designed to extract the material from its atmosphere.
Processed Kytherite remains are also used in construction. Novaris is built from them alongside steel, contributing to the city's cyan-gray appearance.
Energy and technology
Kytherite fuels the power sources aboard imperial warpships. It was also imported from Meridian to support the Maraveth Core's system while the empire faced disruption in Proxion. Even with imported energy supplies, efforts to build another core remained short of the power required; imperial leaders considered drawing energy directly from a star. Draxil's deposits were a suspected reason for the Spiral Mandate's decision to cut off Proxion.
Imperial energy readings can be expressed relative to the maximum output of Kytherite warp engines, providing a scale for comparing other power sources.
Amos detected Kytherite fragments alongside nanites in particles formed by Oktlix. The fragments were tied to warp-drive technology.
