Overview
Serekhai is a northern steppeland nation in Valrindor, far north of Rahmavir. Its capital is Orukhad, a city mounted on massive wheels that moves across the steppes when local resources are exhausted and returns after the land heals.
By the Battle for Cyndarel, Torukhan is Serekhai's khagan. Ravira secures Serekhai's promise to send a regiment to Rahmavir. Torukhan speaks for Serekhai in Raphael's coalition at Cyndarel, discusses tactics with Serekhai commanders, and accepts expected Serekhai losses from attempts to shut down Garrik's logistics.
Geography and Trade
Serekhai's steppelands lie near enough to Halvarim for Maric and Nero to use a Serekhai mercenary cover there. Its population is diverse and travels between Serekhai and Rahmavir for trade. Yellow-sailed Serekhai trader ships dock at Halvarim, and Serekhai people work abroad as traders, mercenaries, guards, commanders, and soldiers.
The steppes were once submerged during the Malverand era. During the Battle for Cyndarel, darkness has already reached Serekhai's north.
Language
Serekhi is Serekhai's language. In Rahmavir, most people speak both Serekhi and Malverine. Nerissa drills Serekhi into Maric and Nero for their mercenary cover. The cover nearly fails when a guard switches into a fluent Serekhai dialect and Maric replies with weaker Serekhi before fleeing.
Serekhi is also a written language. The three-dimensional origin-magic murals at Zarephon are not written in Serekhi or Malverine.
